Surrounded by levees on all sides, the City of West Sacramento is inherently more vulnerable to flooding than most other urbanized areas in the country. Your property is subject to flooding from the Sacramento River if there is a levee breach. The City is actively working toward the goal of providing reliable flood protection for the West Sacramento area.

On March 3, 2021, the City of West Sacramento adopted 条例取得, which amended Chapter 18.20.010 城市代码: Title 18 to include a 1-foot freeboard requirement for mechanical items.
